Master the Bulk Chart Maker

The Bulk Engine is a powerful feature for creating dozens of pendulum dowisng charts from a single data source. This guide is perfect for practitioners, researchers, and creators who want to automate their workflow.

1. The Interface

Access the Bulk Engine by clicking the Bulk Engine button in the Studio. The engine is a guided 4-step wizard on the left — 1. Data, 2. Design, 3. Branding and 4. Review & Export — with a persistent Live Preview rail on the right. Use the step tabs (or the Back / Continue buttons at the bottom) to move between steps; your live chart stays visible while you work.

2. Data Input Methods

The Bulk Engine is flexible, supporting several ways to get your data into the system. Each row in your data represents one complete chart.

A Upload Excel or CSV

Click the "Upload CSV/Excel" button or simply drag and drop your file into the empty state area. We support .xlsx, .csv, and .txt files.

B Interactive Table View

When you upload an Excel file, the engine displays your data in a spreadsheet-like Interactive Table. You can click any cell to edit it directly—perfect for fixing typos or tweaking labels without leaving the Studio.

C AI Prompt Helper

Click the AI Helper button to get a pre-formatted prompt. Paste this into Gemini or ChatGPT to generate structured chart data for any topic, then paste the result into the text area.

3. Data Structure Explained

Each row of data follows a specific structure. The engine uses a Smart Delimiter system to detect your format automatically.

Title, Theme, Size, Font, Layer 1 Labels, Layer 2 Labels, ...

Pro Tip: Delimiters & Sub-Labels

Excel (.xlsx): separate slices with commas inside a cell (e.g., Yes, No, Maybe).
CSV/Text: commas are the safest separator (e.g., Yes, No, Maybe). A run of pipes (Yes | No | Maybe) also splits into separate slices.
Sub-labels: put exactly one pipe inside a comma-separated slice to add a second line (e.g., Yes, No | Only if safe). See Sub-Labels for the full rules.

  • Title: The chart's main heading.
  • Theme: The color palette name (e.g., midnight, mint).
  • Layer Columns: Subsequent columns define each ring.

Sub-Labels — Two Lines per Slice

Any slice can carry a smaller second line of text underneath the main label. Add a single pipe (|) inside the slice to split it into two lines:

A Recommended: comma slices, one pipe each

Separate your slices with commas, then add exactly one pipe inside a slice to give it a sub-label. This works in both Excel cells and CSV rows.

If a cell holds only one slice and no commas, a single pipe is kept as-is, so this is valid too:

C Avoid using two or more pipes

When a cell has no commas, more than one pipe is read as the legacy pipe-delimited list — every part becomes its own slice with no sub-label:

A | B | C   becomes three slices:   A,   B,   C

How sub-labels are shown

Sub-labels render as a second line at a smaller size and lighter opacity. If the Studio’s Sub-labels toggle is off, each sub-label collapses onto the same line joined by a dash (Main - Sub). Their size, colour, weight and case are set globally in the Studio’s text settings.

  • Great for: translations (Heart | Anahata), frequencies (528 Hz | Love), short instructions (Yes | Only if safe) or confidence levels (Maybe | 50%).
  • Keep it short: aim for up to about 25 characters for the main line and 30 for the sub-line so the auto-fit engine has room.
  • Commas inside a label: wrap the whole slice in double quotes — "Team, Lead | Manager", Member.
  • Template ready: the downloadable Excel template already includes sub-label examples in its first row.

4. Batch Configuration

Set global overrides that apply to every chart in the batch. Style controls live in Step 2 — Design; your logo lives in Step 3 — Branding; and output formats live in Step 4 — Review & Export. If an override is set to "Use CSV Column", the engine looks at your data; otherwise, it forces the global setting.

  • Layout: Force Full Circle, Half Circle, Radial Burst, Spoke Wheel or Petal Flower, or use Randomize for variety (Randomize picks only among Full, Half and Radial Burst). Spoke Wheel and Petal Flower use the layout settings currently set in the Studio.
  • Themes: Apply a single theme (like Eco-Mode) to the entire batch.
  • Output (Review step): Pick the format (PNG / JPEG / PDF / SVG), resolution (1× standard, 2× 4K UHD default, 2.6× high-res or 4× Ultra HD), transparency, and a combined 1-file PDF.
  • Auto-Wrap: Enable or disable smart text wrapping globally.

5. Preview & Dowsing

Click "Process & Preview Data" to generate your batch. The engine automatically filters out empty rows (Auto-Clean).

  1. Live Preview: Cycle through charts with the navigation arrows. Any changes to batch settings are reflected instantly.
  2. Full Screen Viewer: Click the Full Screen Viewer icon to enter a distraction-free view. You can navigate through your entire batch using the on-screen arrows while viewing.
  3. Edit Current: Need a specific change? Click "Edit Current" to load that chart's data directly into the main Studio workspace.

6. High-Fidelity Export

When you're ready, the engine handles the heavy lifting of rendering and packaging.

  • Formats: Choose PNG, JPEG, PDF or lossless SVG in the Review & Export step.
  • Resolution: Standard 1×, 4K UHD 2× (default), High-Res 2.6× (2.8K) or Ultra HD 4× (8K max print).
  • Transparency: Transparent PNGs are perfect for layering into documents or websites.
  • One-file booklet: Enable Combined PDF to pack the whole batch into a single multi-page PDF.
  • Logo branding: Upload a logo, choose a 3×3 placement, and set scale and opacity before exporting.
  • Instant ZIP: The "Export All (ZIP)" button generates a single compressed file containing your entire batch, named with the current date and time.

Pro Tips & Tricks

The Excel Workflow

For large projects, always use Excel. It's much easier to manage labels in columns. Use the "Download Template" button in the Bulk Engine to get started with the correct headers.

Customizing the AI Prompt

When using the AI Helper, you can modify the [INSERT TOPIC HERE] part to be very specific. Try: "A 4-layer chart for identifying specific environmental toxins in a home" for highly detailed results.

Eco-Friendly Batches

If you're printing dozens of charts, set the Theme Override to Eco-Mode. This forces a high-contrast black and white style that saves significant printer ink while maintaining clarity.
