1. What is a Dowsing Chart?
A dowsing chart is a visual tool used alongside a pendulum to obtain answers from the subconscious mind or the energetic field. It typically consists of a central point and radiating sections or concentric rings containing labels, numbers, or symbols.
By holding a pendulum over the center, the practitioner observes the direction of its swing to determine which section of the chart is being indicated. Custom charts are powerful because they focus the intention on a specific topic—from health and emotions to choosing the right crystal or essential oil.
2. Planning Your Chart
Before jumping into the studio, it helps to have a clear idea of what you want to achieve.
3. Step-by-Step Studio Tutorial
1 Set Your Intent (Title)
In the Content tab, enter a descriptive title. This anchors the energy of your session. You can fine-tune the title's color and size later by clicking it directly on the canvas preview.
2 Build Your Architecture
Click "Add Layer" to create concentric rings. Each ring can represent a different category or depth of information. Layers can be reordered using the arrow buttons on the layer cards.
3 Populate with Labels
Type your labels into the input box and press Enter.
Pro Tip: Paste a comma-separated list (e.g., "Love, Gratitude, Peace") to add multiple labels at once!
4 Refining the Sequence
Rearrange labels within a layer or move them between layers by dragging and dropping the tag bubbles. This allows you to create a logical flow for your dowsing session.
4. Advanced Customization
Once your content is set, use the Appearance and Text tabs to align the design with your energetic intent.

Precision Typography
Typography affects the "vibration" of your chart. Use clean sans-serifs for clarity, or elegant scripts for more intuitive sessions. You can control label Orientation (Parallel vs Horizontal) to maximize readability.
5. Printing & Exporting
- PDF: Best for high-quality printing on A4/Letter paper.
- PNG: Best for digital use (has a transparent background).
- JPEG: Standard image format with white background.
Professional Results
For a durable chart that lasts for years, print on heavy cardstock (250gsm). We also recommend laminating your charts; this not only protects them but allows you to write temporary notes on them with a dry-erase marker.
6. How to Use Your Chart
- Establish your "Yes" and "No": Before asking your main question, ask the pendulum to show you a clear "Yes" swing and a clear "No" swing.
- Center your Pendulum: Hover the pendulum exactly over the center crosshair of your chart.
- State your Intent: Clearly visualize or speak your question while looking at the chart labels.
- Observe the Lead: Allow the pendulum to swing freely. The direction it consistently follows indicates your answer.
