Where to look in each area

Practical spots worth checking once the pendulum has pointed you to an area.

Why a room-by-room chart helps

Most lost things are not lost far away. They are put down somewhere familiar while your attention is elsewhere. That is why a room-by-room chart suits the job: it turns “where could it be?” into twelve smaller questions. Dowsers use the pendulum to choose where to start, then search that area carefully.

Be clear about what this does. A pendulum cannot see through walls. It answers from your own sense of where the object might be, and its practical value is that it prompts a calm, methodical search instead of frantic re-checking. Keep searching in the real world too, and retrace your steps if the chart does not help.

How to use this lost object chart

  1. Pause for a moment and picture the object clearly: its size, colour and where you last remember using it.
  2. Start with a yes/no question: “Is it in this house or building?” You can use the Studio's Yes/No chart for that.
  3. Hold the pendulum over the centre of this chart and ask: “Where should I look first for my [object]?”
  4. Search that area thoroughly using the list above, including under, behind and inside things.
  5. If you find nothing, ask for the second-best area. If you still find nothing, retrace your steps physically before asking again.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use this chart on a floor plan or map?

Yes. Many dowsers draw a simple plan of the home and hold the pendulum over it, asking which room it swings towards, then use this chart to choose the area inside that room.

What if the pendulum points to a room I already searched?

Search again, more slowly. Look under, behind and inside things, check pockets and bags, and look for items similar to what you want. Lost things are often in plain sight.

Does it work for lost pets or missing people?

There is a separate Lost Pet Finder chart in the Studio. For a missing person, contact the police or emergency services straight away and do not rely on a pendulum.

Can I change this chart?

Yes. Choose Customize in the Studio to open this chart in the free Dowsing Chart Maker. Rename or reorder the sections, change colours, fonts and layout, add layers, then export as PNG or PDF. No sign-up is needed.
